PESCHECK® Website: WordPress to Astro Migration

I built the complete website for PESCHECK, a company I originally worked for during my studies. After taking a gap during my bachelor’s thesis to work at Aeronamic, I came back as a freelance web developer and took on the challenge of completely rebuilding their online presence.

The Challenge

The original WordPress website was slow, difficult to maintain, and didn’t reflect the modern, professional image PESCHECK wanted to project. Page load times were poor, the CMS was cumbersome for content updates, and the overall user experience needed significant improvement.

The Solution: Astro

I decided to rebuild the entire website from scratch using Astro, a modern static site generator that prioritizes performance. This was a complete migration - redesigning the UI/UX, restructuring the content, and implementing best practices for SEO and performance optimization.

The new site is fast, scores excellent on performance metrics, and provides a much better experience for both visitors and the PESCHECK team managing the content. The static site approach means faster load times, better SEO rankings, and significantly improved security compared to the old WordPress setup.

Ongoing Work

I’m still working with PESCHECK a couple of hours per week, continuously improving the website, implementing new features, and managing their technical infrastructure and digital marketing strategies. It’s a project I’m genuinely proud of - seeing the transformation from a slow, outdated WordPress site to a modern, high-performance web presence has been incredibly satisfying.

The migration to Astro has proven to be the right choice, delivering the speed and reliability that both PESCHECK and their visitors deserve.
