Zotero AI Summarizer

I wrote this during my master’s thesis, for the obvious reason. A literature review means deciding whether fifty papers are worth reading, and the abstract doesn’t always tell you.

Zotero AI Summarizer puts summarisation directly inside Zotero, so that triage happens where your library already is. It adds an AI icon to the right sidebar next to the notes icon, pulls the text out of PDF attachments automatically, and gives you a few summary styles: a default summary, bullet points, an academic abstract, or key quotes. You bring your own OpenAI key.

Doing it in place is the whole point. The alternative workflow is open the PDF, copy the text, paste it somewhere else, read the answer, go back, and then forget which paper you were on. Keeping the summary attached to the item you’re judging is the only place it’s actually useful.
